Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to join our Rail Systems Engineering team. You’ll work on maintaining the UK rail network, serving clients like Transport for London, Network Rail, and Train Operating Companies.

Reporting to the Lead Safety and Security Engineer, the system engineer will handle project upgrades mainly across Network Rail, TFL, TFGM, etc., including survey, design, and technical aspects of SISS in a Rail environment.

Typical Deliverables

• Experience in system design, survey, and technical engineering within SISS.
• Lead on creating new product or service ideas, and develop plans for new designs.
• Manage ideas from initial design through to production and installation.
• Draw detailed technical plans for concepts.
• Apply mathematical and scientific skills to develop real-world solutions.
• Select appropriate materials for new products or constructions.
• Forecast accurate project costs.
• Complete technical and regulatory documentation.
• Ensure quality control tests and oversee construction, development, and deployment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain in-depth knowledge of professional engineering disciplines and related areas.
• Arrange testing of products, systems, software, or infrastructure.
• Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Develop personal engineering skills.
