Job summary

WM Trains Limited in Nuneaton is seeking a Station Assistant to deliver excellent customer service, assist passengers, and help keep the station clean, safe and presentable. You will support the safe dispatch of trains and act as the face of WM Trains for travellers.

The role requires flexible weekend work, good IT, maths and English, and the ability to stay calm under pressure; age 18+ and safety-critical responsibilities apply.

Qualifications

Customer-focused and proactive service.
Excellent communication and ability to adapt style to audience.
Flexible with hours, including weekends and early starts/late finishes.
Ability to make decisions based on the situation.
Good IT skills along with maths and English.

Responsibilities

Work shifts including weekends with early starts and late finishes.
Safely dispatch trains from the station platform following safety guidelines.
Keep records of delays and events affecting train running plans.
Provide assistance to passengers with disabilities when required.
Conduct safety and health checks and security checks.
Maintain a clean, safe, and presentable station environment.
