Job summary

Vertu FM is seeking a Static Fabric Engineer for a 6-month FTC on a large commercial site in Newcastle. The role focuses on general maintenance, plant room upkeep, and high standards of customer service.

The ideal candidate will have experience in building maintenance, painting, plumbing and carpentry, with strong communication and teamwork skills. Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, with overtime available.

Qualifications

• Experience in all-round building maintenance on large commercial sites.
• Skills in painting, light groundworks, door repairs, gutter cleaning, plumbing and carpentry.

Responsibilities

• Assist in general maintenance of a large commercial site.
• Maintain plant rooms and equipment serving modern office buildings.
• Clean and paint equipment and plant room floors.
• Chemical cleaning of equipment using jet washer.
• Deliver spares to the site.
• Take meter readings and perform tap temperature checks.
• Assist Building Services Technicians.
• Communicate with clients, suppliers and staff to maintain relationships.
• Organise work and time efficiently within a team.
• Submit reports, timesheets and progress updates to Contracts Managers.

Static Fabric Engineer

Full Time 6 Month FTC

We are working with a reputable, fast-growing and forward-thinking facilities management business with a strong company culture and ambitious plans for continued growth.

Due to expansion, they are looking to recruit a Static Building Maintenance Engineer for a 6 month FTC to join their engineering team on a large commercial site in Newcastle.

This role would suit an experienced and professional general trades person who is comfortable working in a static environment and delivering a high standard of maintenance and customer service.

The Role

• Assist in providing general maintenance of this large commercial site.
• Upkeep and tidying of plant rooms and equipment serving modern, high standard office buildings
• Cleaning and painting of equipment, plant and plant room floors
• Chemical cleaning of equipment using high-pressure jet washer
• Delivery of spares to site
• Basic Building Maintenance tasks including meter readings and tap temperature checks
• Assisting Building Services Technicians
• To regularly and effectively communicate with clients, suppliers and other personnel in order to maintain and develop excellent professional working relationships and ensure smooth operation of the business
• The job holder will be expected to organise their work and time efficiently, and to be work supportively within a team
• Submitting clear, concise and accurate reports of works carried out, with clear recommendations for any further work required
• Submitting weekly accurate timesheets
• Communicating with Contracts Managers on Job progression

The Person

The successful candidate will:

• Have experience in an all round building maintenance role
• Experience in areas such as painting, light groundworks, door repairs, gutter cleaning, light plumbing and carpentry works
• Good communication skills.
• Positive attitude
• Provide technical support to administration staff as required

The Package

• Salary £35000-£38000
• Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm
• Fixed Term Contract 6 Months Full Time
• Overtime available
• 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays pro rata
