Job summary

Vertu FM is recruiting a Static Engineer for a Bristol site (BS5). This permanent full-time role covers on-site building maintenance, with a 7am–4pm shift and a 5 on/2 off pattern, plus a 1 in 4 callout rota with fuel paid when on call. You will handle planned and reactive M&E tasks and keep compliant records.

The ideal candidate will have facilities maintenance experience, hold 17th or 18th edition, and show strong communication and safety awareness. Excellent progression and benefits await.

Responsibilities

• Carry out a wide range of mechanical and electrical maintenance works.
• Perform planned and reactive maintenance (PPM) and repairs.
• Ensure statutory compliance and maintain accurate records, following safety practices.
• Support dedicated site as first point of call for PPM and M&E, including emergency lighting, fire alarms, lamp changes, basic plumbing and fabric work.
• Work autonomously delivering planned maintenance, fault finding and repair tasks.
• Shift pattern: 5 days on 2 off, with some weekend work.

We are working directly with a highly reputable and well known facilities management contractor who specialise in providing all round building maintenance services to clients within the commercial sector.

Due to expansion we are looking to recruit a Static maintenance engineer to be based at a commercial site to look after all site building maintenance and deliver planned and reactive maintenance.

This role is multi skilled covering all round maintenance.

Role:

• You will be based on site covering all building maintenance works across this commercial site.
• Carrying out a wide range of mechanical and electrical maintenance works.
• PPM and reactive maintenance works.
• You will ensure that the site is statutorily compliant and accurate records are kept up to date, as well as maintaining a high standard of work by following safe working practices.
• You'll be supporting your own dedicated site as our client's first point of call for PPM and reactive M&E and other general building services maintenance. Tasks could include emergency light testing, fire alarms, lamp changes, basic plumbing, and fabric work.
• You'll enjoy working autonomously, where you will be responsible for delivering planned and preventative maintenance, fault finding and repair work. Ideally, you will have the ability to confidently carry out a range of other mechanical tasks as well.
• This role is working on a shift pattern of 5 days on 2 days off so will include some weekends as part of your week.

Person:

• Facilities maintenance experience
• You must hold 17th or 18th edition
