Stantec UK Limited in Reading is offering a Degree Apprentice (Level 6) Civil Engineer programme in the Civil Engineering team. You will gain hands-on experience and academic qualifications to start a career in civil engineering.

The apprenticeship lasts 5 years, with 37.5 hours per week. Training includes Coventry University and Bristol UWE, with CAD Civil 3D and GIS software. Start date is 01 September 2027.

Work

As an apprentice, you'll work at a company and get hands‑on experience. You'll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you'll do at work

Dive into the hands‑on world of Civil Engineering design.

• You’ll be producing detailed drawings and technical models for crucial infrastructure projects
• You'll be trained to master powerful industry software such as Computer Aided Design (CAD), especially AutoCAD Civil 3D, and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) to accurately map, model, and visualize solutions
• Contribute to innovative and sustainable solutions—from concept to delivery. You’ll assist Senior Engineers across the entire project lifecycle, working closely with multidisciplinary experts, including Mechanical and Electrical Engineers, to ensure that we are always delivering the most innovative and efficient solution for our clients

Training

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.
