Job summary

OCU is seeking a Stakeholder Engagement Manager in Oxford to build positive relationships with communities, local authorities, landowners, businesses, and other stakeholders across major infrastructure projects. This role focuses on transparent collaboration, and delivering engagement from early planning through delivery.

You will lead communications, organise public consultations and manage external consultants, ensuring consistent messaging with project teams and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience in stakeholder engagement, community relations, communications or public affairs.
• Proven ability to build positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills to explain complex information clearly and effectively.
• Experience managing concerns and delivering successful engagement outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver stakeholder engagement strategies aligned to DNO and project requirements.
• Lead engagement with local authorities, communities, landowners, businesses, and affected stakeholders.
• Coordinate creation of public-facing communications including letters, factsheets, and information packs.
• Organise and support consultation activity such as public exhibitions, letter drops, and engagement events.
• Manage third-party stakeholder engagement consultants, ensuring quality and consistency of delivery.
• Work with consents, pre-construction, and delivery teams to ensure aligned messaging and planning.
• Collaborate with DNO stakeholder teams to support wider engagement strategies.
• Track, manage, and resolve stakeholder queries, feedback, and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
