Job summary
SC ENGINEERING in Sandy, Bedfordshire, seeks an experienced Welder/Fabricator for a permanent role. You will TIG/MIG weld stainless steel, fabricate from drawings, and handle stainless from 1mm–12mm with pipework, purge welding and finishing tasks. Overtime is available and a strong health-safety mindset is essential.
The ideal candidate has welding experience, can read engineering drawings, and is proficient with fabrication machinery. City & Guilds/NVQ in Welding would be advantageous.
Qualifications
- Experience welding stainless steel (TIG/MIG)
- Ability to read and work from engineering drawings
- Experience using fabrication and workshop machinery
- Strong attention to detail and quality control
- City & Guilds / NVQ or apprenticeship in Welding would be advantageous
Responsibilities
- TIG and MIG welding of stainless steel
- Fabricating components and assemblies from drawings
- Working with stainless steel from ~1mm-12mm
- Pipework and purge welding
- Cutting, forming, grinding and finishing components
- Operating fabrication and sheet metal machinery
- Maintaining workmanship standards and safety
- Carrying out quality checks on completed work
