Job summary

Mansell Recruitment Group is assisting a well-established engineering and manufacturing business in St. Neots, England, to find an experienced Welder/Fabricator for its production team.

This is a hands-on role crafting bespoke stainless-steel food processing equipment for UK and international customers. You will TIG weld and fabricate 1–12mm stainless components, undertake pipework and purge welding, read engineering drawings, and operate sheet-metal machinery.

Qualifications

• Proven TIG welding and fabrication experience.
• Experience with stainless steel.
• Experience with pipework and purge welding.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Understanding of tolerances and bend allowances.
• Experience using sheet-metal/fabrication machinery.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Understanding of health and safety.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• City & Guilds qualification in Welding/Fabrication or apprenticeship advantageous.

Responsibilities

• TIG welding stainless steel from 1mm–12mm thickness.
• Fabrication and assembly of bespoke equipment.
• Stainless-steel pipework and purge welding.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Working to specified tolerances and bend allowances.
• Operating sheet-metal and fabrication machinery.
• Producing high-quality work to engineering standards.
• Working effectively as part of a production team.
• Supporting installation work at customer sites when required.
• Maintaining high standards of health & safety, quality and housekeeping.
