Harness is seeking an experienced software engineer to design, develop, and scale critical infrastructure software within the IACM space. You’ll work across Java and Go, shaping APIs and cloud integrations to automate provisioning and governance.

Join a fast-moving team that mentors engineers, reviews designs, and drives architecture improvements while delivering secure, compliant infrastructure at scale.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience building highly scalable, distributed applications in Java and Go.
• Experience designing REST, GRPC and GraphQL APIs with scalable architectures.
• Working knowledge of SQL and No-SQL databases.
• Strong foundations in data structures, algorithms and debugging.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable platform software in a fast-paced environment.
• Authors software specifications and design documents.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership.
• Peer reviews of designs and code; improve quality, performance and architecture.
• Collaborate with SREs and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot production issues.

About The Role

• Design, develop and maintain critical software of scalable platform in fast-paced environment
• Authors software functional specifications and design documents
• Quickly understand complex systems/code and own key pieces of the system, including the delivered quality
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex problems in a distributed computing environment
• Establish best practices in area of quality, performance & architecture inside the team
• Mentor Software Engineers & Senior Software Engineers and provide technical leadership
• Perform peer reviews of specifications, designs, and code
• Identify technical debt & scaling issues in the base code and drive the improvement
• Work alongside Site Reliability Engineers and cross-functional teams to diagnose/troubleshoot any production performance related issues
• Work in Java, Golang, and Python. Systems built on Docker, Kubernetes, MongoDB, ELK, TimescaleDB, GCP Stackdriver, GCS, Cloud Composer, AI Platform

About You

• A desire to build products that solve complex technical problems for end users
• 7+ years experience developing highly scalable, distributed applications, products and services in Java and Golang
• Designing/developing REST, GRPC and GraphQL APIs
• Working knowledge of SQL and No-SQL database technologies
• Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms and software design with strong analytical and debugging skills
• Experience in SAAS platform development with scale
• Entrepreneurial spirit, pride yourself on getting things done at high level of quality
• Experience with AWS/Azure/GCP is a plus
• Bachelors in Computer Science, Advanced degree preferred, or equivalent professional experience
