Job summary

Wayve in London/UK or Sunnyvale/US is seeking a Robotics Software Engineer for the Online Calibration team to scale calibration across our autonomous vehicle fleet.

You will turn calibration and estimation methods into reliable, observable and resource-efficient components of the on-vehicle runtime, collaborating across calibration, state estimation, robot software, hardware acceleration and fleet teams.

Qualifications

• Strong practical expertise in sensor calibration and state estimation across multi-sensor systems.
• Strong understanding of filtering and estimation methods (Kalman, Bayesian, smoothing, factor graphs).
• Proficiency in modern C++ and Python for prototyping and tooling.
• Experience productionising robotics software for vehicles/edge platforms with clear lifecycle and recovery behaviour.
• Experience with asynchronous, high-throughput sensor data and hardware-accelerated pipelines.
• Excellent software-architecture, API design, testing, debugging and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Extend and productionise the online calibration node within architectural direction.
• Adapt calibration/estimation algorithms for onboard execution and on-demand use.
• Handle asynchronous sensor data and accelerator-produced features robustly.
• Improve validation, persistence, interfaces between calibration node and fleet systems.
• Profile and optimise for constrained compute, memory, storage, and latency budgets.
• Build simulation, replay, bench and on-vehicle tests and improve fleet observability.
