Job summary

Wayve is seeking a Robotics Software Engineer for the Online Calibration team to scale calibration methods across our autonomous vehicle fleet. You will implement reliable, observable components for on-vehicle runtime, operating on constrained, hardware-accelerated platforms and collaborating across calibration, state estimation, robot software, and hardware teams.

You will extend the calibration node, adapt algorithms for onboard execution, and build tests and simulations to improve fleet-wide

Qualifications

  • Strong practical expertise in sensor calibration, state estimation or related robotics domain.
  • Strong understanding of Kalman-family filters, Bayesian estimation, smoothing or factor-graph optimisation.
  • Proficiency in modern C++ and Python for prototyping, analysis and tooling.
  • Experience productionising robotics software for vehicles or edge platforms with clear lifecycle handling.
  • Experience with asynchronous, high-throughput sensor data and hardware-accelerated pipelines.

Responsibilities

  • Extend online calibration node capabilities to deliver robust production software within team architecture.
  • Adapt and integrate calibration and estimation algorithms for onboard execution.
  • Handle asynchronous sensor data and accelerator-produced features with robust calibration parameters.
  • Strengthen validation, gating, persistence and interfaces among calibration node, state, runtime and fleet systems.
  • Profile and optimise critical paths for constrained compute, memory, storage and latency.
