Job summary

Wayve is seeking a Robotics Software Engineer for its Online Calibration team. You will turn calibration and estimation methods into reliable, observable, resource-efficient components running on constrained hardware, collaborating across calibration, state estimation, robot software, and hardware-accelerated pipelines.

You will shape architecture and roadmap for a foundational capability impacting vehicle performance, resilience and safety, with a hybrid London/UK or Sunnyvale/US office setup.

Qualifications

• Strong practical expertise in sensor calibration, state estimation or robotics.
• Understanding of Kalman-family filters, Bayesian estimation, smoothing or factor-graph optimisation.
• Strong modern C++ software engineering and proficiency in Python.
• Experience productionising robotics software for vehicles or edge platforms.
• Experience with asynchronous, high-throughput sensor data and hardware-accelerated pipelines.
• Strong software architecture, API design, testing, debugging and profiling; cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Extend the calibration node capabilities with robust production software.
• Adapt and integrate calibration and estimation algorithms for onboard execution.
• Handle asynchronous sensor data and accelerator features reliably.
• Strengthen interfaces between calibration node, onboard state, and fleet systems.
• Profile and optimise paths for constrained compute and memory budgets.
• Build simulation, replay, bench and on-vehicle tests and improve diagnostics.
