Job summary

Wayve in London (UK) and Sunnyvale (US) is seeking a Staff Robotics Engineer, 3D Sensing to lead LiDAR and cross-sensor 3D sensing development. You will own calibration, synchronization, and alignment of LiDAR with cameras, enabling robust perception and ground-truth generation across diverse vehicles and conditions.

As a senior individual contributor, you will shape architecture and roadmap for 3D sensing, mentor engineers, and tackle real-world timing and motion challenges in production-ready

Qualifications

• Significant experience in robotics or autonomous-driving with LiDAR and 3D sensor data.
• Strong LiDAR-to-camera calibration and registration experience.
• Deep knowledge of 3D geometry, state estimation and optimization.
• Experience with time synchronization and motion effects in sensing.
• Strong software engineering in C++ and/or Python; moving algorithms to production.
• Experience defining evaluation methodologies and metrics for calibration and 3D sensing.
• Demonstrated technical leadership and mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Define architecture and roadmap for 3D sensing aligned with product needs.
• Lead LiDAR calibration and LiDAR-to-camera registration methods.
• Develop temporal alignment and motion compensation techniques.
• Prototype to production for scalable 3D sensing systems.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship across the team.
