We are currently recruiting for a Staff Officer to join our client based in Ballykelly. The successful candidates will be required to start once the vetting paperwork and ANI completed.
Rate of pay: £19.59ph
Duration: up to 6 Months with a review
Hours of work: Full time 37 Hours per week
Start date: ASAP ( MUST BE ABLE TO START BEFORE 28TH AUGUST )
The NICS hybrid working policy will be applicable. Travel to other locations in NI will be required.
Key Responsibilities
Rural Affairs Investment Branch provides an oversight and governance role in the delivery of current and future investment fund projects under Rural Affairs Division's responsibility such as the Complementary Fund, City and Growth Deals and PEACEPLUS.
The functions, roles and responsibilities cover the following areas:
- Supporting the work of the branch in relation to current PEACEPLUS programme where DAERA is the Accountable Department, including providing governance oversight across other departmental Investment Areas, and overseeing the delivery and implementation of Growth Deals, Complementary Fund and any future investment funding programmes.
- Monitoring delivery of expenditure and achievement of objectives of projects.
- Attending PEACEPLUS/City & Growth/Complementary Fund related meetings, as necessary, providing secretariat support, as required.
- Planning and prioritising multiple tasks to meet project milestones.
- Providing Branch secretariat support for the completion and return of corporate and Departmental returns.
- Retaining project budgets spend records and preparing payment information or returns to Finance, as required.
- Preparing written and oral advice to senior staff on investments, including briefings and submissions for the Minister and Permanent Secretary.
- Providing input into requests for information e.g., FOI and EIR, correspondence and invitation cases and Assembly question responses.
- Line management responsibilities as required, including ensuring the management of Performance and Attendance in line with current procedures.
- Leading, encouraging and managing to build capacity and capability within the team.
Experience Required
- A degree with a minimum of 12 months office experience.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal and communications skills as well as good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to plan, organise and manage their time and activities to deliver a high quality and efficient service.
- Project management experience of liaising with different departments/ delivery leads to ensure work is delivered on time to a high standard.
- The ability to be innovative and able to suggest ideas for improvements.
