You must have a live NMC UK pin in order to be considered for this post.

This is a permanent, full time position.

The shift pattern for this position is Mon-Sunday. 12 hour shifts. Rotational day/night shift.

Do you have a passion for excellence in care?

If so, we are looking for enthusiastic Registered Nurses to join our Orthopaedic team at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. You will be working as a Band 5 Staff Nurse providing essential nursing care to our patients with varying presentations of fractures/injuries in our 28 bedded wards.

The successful applicant will gain experience in all aspects of Orthopaedic nursing care. The Orthopaedic department cares for a wide variety of patients from those undergoing elective surgery to patients admitted from the emergency department. This patient group facilitates the nursing team with diverse development prospects and excellent opportunities to develop knowledge and skills. You will utilise a broad range of knowledge and skills in the assessment, planning and implementation of care for this patient group. Including pre and post-operative care and early rehabilitation. Receiving patients directly from ED will allow you to gain skills towards managing the unscheduled care target and safe and efficient flow of the patient journey.

Within the department we offer a comprehensive programme of education and support to enhance your development within the specialty. You will demonstrate a willingness to undertake in-service training in order to gain competency in areas such as pain management & wound care (including negative pressure wound therapy).
