Job summary

Nuffield Health Glasgow Hospital is seeking a Staff Nurse - Pre-Op Assessment (Bank) to join our team in Glasgow. You will conduct pre-operative assessments, supporting patients through the surgical pathway and ensuring holistic, compassionate care.

Applicants must be a registered nurse with appropriate governing body registration (including NMC) and demonstrate post-registration experience in a ward or theatre setting. Bank shifts offer ad-hoc hours, with evening and weekend work as required.

• Post-registration nursing experience in a hospital setting.
• Able to assess patients holistically and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Pre Operative Assessing patients undergoing a variety of operations.

• Deliver matron-led, consultant-led care with a focus on patient comfort.

Up to £25 per hour, depending on experience

You’re registered with the appropriate governing body, and you bring the qualifications and experience relevant to your registration, including NMC. With post-registration experience, you’re a team player with a passion for exceptional patient care.

As an Pre-Op Assessment Staff Nurse, you will:

• Pre Operative Assessing patients undergoing a variety of operations.
• We require you to have a good knowledge of history taking, understand the variety of procedures performed, health assessment and promotion and treat the patient in a holistic manner that incorporates a thorough assessment of the patients health condition, social circumstances and post operative recovery.
• Be part of a close-knit team delivering matron-led care in a consultant-led service
• As the first point of contact you will work with leading talent and professionals to make the right assessments for patients prior to their surgery
• Demonstrate a broad knowledge base and assessment skills to ensure patient care
• Fully understand and support the needs of each patient and their family
• Offer comfort and reassurance, providing the highest standards of care
• Build your experience across new practices, equipment and facilities
• Work with practitioners in other areas, understanding that continuity in patient care is key
