Job summary

Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our busy Endoscopy Team. Experience in Endoscopy is desirable but not essential.

The Endoscopy Unit is a modern, 7-room, JAG-accredited unit performing over 17,000 procedures per year. The successful candidate will support the consultants and our team of nurse endoscopists to provide safe care before, during and after procedures.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with current registration.
• Endoscopy experience is desirable but not essential.
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of the nursing care for a named caseload.
• Assist in creating a therapeutic environment which meets the needs of patients, relatives and carers.
• Adhere to Wirral Hospital objectives, policies, protocols and guidelines.
• Liaise with other members of the multidisciplinary team.
• Act as shift coordinator in the absence of the Ward/Departmental Manager.
• Supervise and lead a team of junior staff.
• Participate in audits and maintain ongoing professional development.
