We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

The shift pattern for this post is 12 hour shifts worked on rotation on day and night shifts.

Please note the salary is pro rata for part time hours.

The Emergency Complex at Glasgow Royal Infirmary cares for around 300 patients each day between its Emergency Department and Acute Assessment Unit (Medical Assessment Unit). The Emergency Complex requires a new Band 5 staff nurse to join our team.

We require a candidate who has a real passion for Emergency/ Urgent Care, care of the deteriorating patient and has the ability to perform under pressure. We require a nurse who is constantly willing to learn and improve, and our teams are committed to support you as we strive to improve the service we deliver to our patients.

It is desirable that you have extended skills including Venepuncture and Cannulation and IV medication administration but if you have not previously gained these skills, we will support you to achieve them. We actively support excellent training and learning opportunities to meet requirements for continuing professional development.

Emergency Departments and Acute Assessment Units are dynamic healthcare environments. Working in our diverse teams, you will gain the skills and experience to perform in a demanding environment.
