Job Overview

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across various clinical and non-clinical roles. We provide a range of services including acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health care to over 1.15 million people, expanding to 2.2 million with regional and national services.

This position involves a shift pattern of 37 hours per week on an annualised contract from mid-August to mid-April (8 months). Salary is pro-rata for part-time hours.

Role Description

We are seeking a Staff Nurse to join the School Immunisation Team. The Nurse Coordinator will lead and manage a team delivering national public health immunisation programs to school-aged children across NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. The role supports the Public Health Agenda, aiming to enhance health and wellbeing, reduce health inequalities, and meet health objectives through preventative care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate immunisation services across designated teams.
  • Lead and support registered nurses and healthcare support workers.
  • Ensure delivery of immunisation programs in line with national policies.
Essential Criteria
  • First Level Nursing Registration with NMC.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Knowledge of immunisation policies and professional development in immunisation.
  • Willingness to work across NHS GG&C HSCP teams, including GGC Board wide and cross-boundary working.
Additional Information

This is a permanent, part-time position working an annualised hours contract from mid-August to mid-April, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30-16:30 or 16:00. Salary is paid over 12 months, equivalent to 24.8 hours weekly.
