Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) team at The Royal London Hospital. Barts Health is one of the largest NHS trusts in the UK, boasting 3 Emergency Departments, including the Royal London Hospital. We are a major trauma centre and hyper-acute stroke unit providing urgent specialist treatment to North East London and beyond. We work closely with research colleagues to integrate pioneering, world-class care, developing new pathways and services for efficient, patient-centred emergency medicine. We seek a motivated team player to join our expanding team, ensuring safe and compassionate care for patients in the SDEC unit. The unit operates Monday to Friday, 8am to 8.30pm, with occasional weekends and bank holidays, and remains open 24/7 staffed by the Emergency Department out of hours. We run medical, surgical, and emergency care pathways, collaborating with various hospital specialties to improve patient experience and flow. As a staff nurse, you will provide care and coordinate patient services, ensuring safety and quality, working closely with internal and external services to Barts Health. You will be supported in your personal development within this role.

You will assist in providing care and coordinating all patient services in the department, maintaining patient experience, safety, and clinical quality. Collaboration with internal and external services providing same-day emergency care is essential.
