What you will be doing

As a qualified Nurse, you will ensure people with mental health conditions receive high-quality care, support your colleagues, and promote positive teamwork.

The wards are busy, with plenty to keep you engaged and motivated, offering routine and variety. Your day-to-day will include:

  • Providing high-quality, effective, and compassionate nursing care to service users
  • Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care
  • Mentoring and supporting team members
  • Observing, recording, and reporting all service user changes, maintaining accurate records

Where you will be working:

Location: Bennett’s Lane, Widnes, Warrington, WA8 0GT

You will work at the Gateway Recovery Centre, a state-of-the-art facility providing care for men and women with complex mental health needs.

The hospital is divided into four areas:

  • Male Autism Service for adults with Autism and Asperger’s syndrome
  • Assessment and rehabilitation for women with complex mental health and personality difficulties
  • Specialist inpatient service for older men with complex health needs
  • Low secure care for men with mental illness, with or without personality disorder/mild LD

You will work with the team to improve the mental health and wellbeing of service users and help them develop healthy relationships. Gateway aims to reduce risk behaviors associated with mental health conditions so patients can live successful, fulfilling lives within the community.
