Job summary

The Wellington Hospital in London is seeking a Staff Nurse to join our Medical & Surgical Ward. You will deliver safe, high-quality nursing care across inpatient journeys, collaborating with consultants and multidisciplinary teams to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care.

We welcome nurses with NMC registration and experience in acute medical or surgical wards, with strong clinical assessment, post-operative care, and excellent communication.

Responsibilities

Staff Nurse - Medical Surgical Ward

Full time, 37.5 hours per week
Shift times: Shift patterns will include days, nights and weekends - flexibility required to cover all shift patterns

Our Medical & Surgical Ward is a 14-bed inpatient ward, caring for patients with a variety of acute and complex medical conditions including general medical, respiratory, renal and heart failure.

As a Staff Nurse in the Medical & Surgical Ward, you'll deliver safe, high-quality nursing care to patients throughout their inpatient journey. You'll work collaboratively with consultants and multidisciplinary teams to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care, ensuring every patient receives a seamless and compassionate experience. You'll support patients with acute medical needs, post-operative recovery, admissions and discharges, while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety, dignity and clinical excellence.

What you'll bring
  • Registered Nurse with a valid NMC registration.
  • Must have previous post registration experience working within an Acute Medical and Surgical Ward environment.
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision‑making skills.
