HCA Healthcare UK’s Endoscopy Centre in London’s The Wellington Hospital is seeking an Endoscopy ODP / Staff Nurse. Join a private JAG-accredited centre delivering high standards of care within a 12-bay environment and advanced endoscopic technology.

Qualifications

  • Registered nurse or ODP with current registration (NMC/HCPC).
  • Endoscopy experience or ENB qualification.
  • Knowledge of healthcare policies, procedures and health and safety requirements.
  • Excellent communication in a busy clinical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Consultants during endoscopic procedures, ensuring safe patient care.
  • Monitor, record and interpret patient observations throughout the pathway.
  • Participate in the Endoscopy on-call rota and respond to clinical requirements.
  • Support patients and colleagues, escalating concerns as required.
  • Contribute to effective management of resources and day-to-day running of the department.

Endoscopy ODP / Staff Nurse – Endoscopy Centre
London, The Wellington Hospital
Full time, 37.5 hours per week
Monday to Friday covering shifts between 7:00am and 6:00pm

We’re looking for an Endoscopy ODP / Staff Nurse to join our Endoscopy Centre at The Wellington Hospital in London. As London’s first private JAG accredited centre for gastrointestinal endoscopy, the department is recognised for delivering high standards of patient care and clinical practice. With 12 purpose built recovery bays and access to advanced endoscopic technology, the service supports the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of conditions affecting the digestive system. As an Endoscopy ODP / Staff Nurse in the Endoscopy Centre, you’ll be part of a team dedicated to delivering safe, effective and compassionate care throughout every stage of the patient journey. Working across a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, you’ll collaborate closely with Consultants, colorectal clinical nurse specialists and experienced endoscopy colleagues. The role offers exposure to advanced procedures in a specialist environment, alongside access to ongoing learning, professional development and opportunities to grow your career within one of the UK’s leading healthcare providers.

What you’ll do:
  • Assist Consultants during a range of endoscopic procedures, ensuring safe and effective patient care.

  • Monitor, record and interpret patient observations throughout the patient pathway.

  • Participate in the Endoscopy on call rota and respond appropriately to clinical requirements.

  • Support patients and colleagues, escalating concerns to the Nurse in Charge when required.

  • Contribute to the effective management of resources and the smooth day to day running of the department.

What you’ll bring:
  • Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner qualification.

  • Current NMC or HCPC registration.

  • Endoscopy experience, including an ENB qualification or equivalent endoscopy practice experience.

  • Knowledge of relevant healthcare policies, procedures and health and safety requirements.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a busy and changing clinical environment.
