Job summary

Active Care Group is recruiting a Staff Nurse (RGN) for Bethany Lodge in Dymchurch, Kent. The role covers a 36-hour week on a day/night rota, delivering high-quality residential care to young adults with disabilities in a supportive team setting.

You will assess needs, implement care plans, administer medicines, and work with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safety and wellbeing in line with NMC guidelines and legislation. Excellent documentation and leadership are required.

Qualifications

• NMC Pin registration (RGN) is essential.
• Legal right to work in the UK is required.
• Nurses must be compliant in PEG, catheter and diabetes care.
• Good understanding of disabilities, patient deterioration, and epilepsy or willingness to learn.
• Strong documentation, care planning and medication administration skills.
• Knowledge of manual handling, DOLS and MCA, and dysphagia.
• Strong organisational and leadership abilities.
• Familiarity with Care Home procedures and policies.

Responsibilities

• Assess residents' needs and implement care plans per NMC guidelines.
• Lead when required within clinical and non-clinical teams.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and records.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team care planning and assessments.
• Administer medicines within regulatory guidelines and keep records up to date.
• Work autonomously to provide safe, specialised care to residents.

At Bethany Lodge, we provide support for young adults with a disability in a residential home, helping to promote independence and maintain a high standard of both physical and mental wellbeing. What you'll be working:

36 hours per week, on a rota basis. (The shifts to cover are day & night, our rota is 08.00 to 20.15 and 20.00 to 08.15 over 7 days of the week)

What you'll be doing:

This varied role will include carrying out procedures for assessment of residents needs and ensuring care plans are implemented and monitored, so as to meet their physical and emotional requirements in line with NMC guidelines and current legislation. Working as part of the clinical and non-clinical team, including leading when required. Whilst always ensuring high standards of accuracy in all clinical administration and record keeping. To be an active participant in the multidisciplinary team, formulating care plans and utilisingappropriate assessments. To administer medicine within the guidelines and framework of the Nursing and MidwiferyCouncil. Ensure all clinical documentation is of a high standard and patient notes are maintained andfiled in the appropriate way. Working autonomously with confidence and competence to provide a highly specialised andsafe service to the patient. Maintain and contribute to the standards of professional care, ethics, policies and procedures.

What you'll have:

• current NMC Pin registration (RGN)

• An understanding of physical and learning disabilities, patient deterioration, Epilepsy, or willingness to learn
• Proficient in documentation and care planning and medication
• Working knowledge of manual handling, DOLs and MCA, dysphagia.
• Good organisational and leadership skills.
• Understanding of Care Home procedures and policies.
