Staff Nurse
Band 5 £31,892 - £39,735 per annum (pro rata)
Plus Distant Islands Allowance of £1,349 (pro rata)
14.5 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Band 5 to join the Barra Nursing Team. If you would like to work in an island post that is interesting, rewarding and challenging , with lots of opportunity for developing experience and skills required in a remote and rural setting, then the Barra Nursing Team has plenty to offer. The Integrated team works accross the Hospital (3 beds), Emergency room and the Community workload providing patient centred care to the community of Barra and Vatersay.
The Islands of Barra and Vatersay are the smallest of the islands in the archipelago of the Western Isles and is reknowned for its idyllic ‘Carribbean like’ beaches , sporting activities , sense of community and the Gaelic Culture. The island has the only airport beach runway in the UK, which provides an excellent air service daily to the Mainland , an exhilarating daily ferry service from Oban on the mainland , and five sailings a day to the adjacent island.
The Idea candidate will be registered nurse with a current NMC registration, have evidence of Continuing Professional Development and be in receipt of a Full Driving Licence.
