Job description

Phyllis Tuckwell provides palliative and end of life care for people living with an advanced or terminal illness. Based in Farnham, Camberley and Guildford, we serve a population of 550,000 across West Surrey and North East Hampshire.

Registered Nurse – Hospice at Home

Salary: £32,602 - £36,709per annum WTE based on 37.5 hours week, plus enhancements

Full Time and Part Time work available

Phyllis Tuckwell is recruiting Registered Nurses to join our expanding Hospice at Home team. We provide a responsive service for patients in their homes and work closely with community nursing teams to offer dignified, compassionate, and co-ordinated care for patients and their families.

We are looking for proactive Registered Nurses who are committed to learning and developing skills in palliative and end of life care, and medicine management. The successful candidates will work in an integrated way within a team and with partners. The successful applicant will be passionate about working effectively for the benefit of patients, carers, and families.

We offer a very supportive learning environment to enable successful applicants to develop their skills and knowledge in all aspects of palliative and end of life care; including holistic assessment, responding to patient’s and family needs, symptom control, advance care planning, education, medicines management and drug administration.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Current post registration experience in palliative and end of life care
  • Strong skills in holistic assessment and in decision making
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • An understanding of community working and Phyllis Tuckwell’s philosophy and values (We will be Compassionate, Inclusive, Dynamic and Accountable)
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
  • Self-awareness and effective coping strategies
