Job Overview

Please note for Welsh students, you must apply via Streamlining where all available jobs can be located. The Acute Medical Unit is within the Emergency quadrant in YGC. We are looking for pro‑active, forward thinking nurses to join our established team.

Main duties of the job
  • Initial assessment and completion of documentation of patients with acute medical presentations.
  • Regular assessment of patients treatment needs and planning accordingly.
  • Pressure ulcer prevention.
  • Administration of medication, including IV medication.
  • Liaising with other departments to coordinate patient care and treatment.
  • Adhering to Infection prevention policies and procedures.
  • Successful candidates will be supported to develop their skills and knowledge in acute medicine by senior nursing team and by Practice Development nurse.
  • AMU is a dynamic area ideal for individuals with a flexible and adaptable nature.

Successful candidate would be expected to work days and nights on rotation, on a 7 day basis.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
