Job summary

Priory Hospital Altrincham is seeking a Qualified RMN to join our Nursing team on a full-time basis (38.5 hours per week). Salary range £34,086–£36,575 per annum. Active NMC registration and completed preceptorship are required.

You will act as a named nurse, assess and plan patient care, monitor wellbeing, and work with the MDT to ensure safe, person-centred treatment. Training and development opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Qualified RMN with active NMC registration.
• Completed preceptorship programme.
• Minimum 6 months post-registration experience.
• Good understanding of NMC guidelines and professional practice.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as a named nurse, working with patients and families to assess, plan and deliver personalised nursing care.
• Monitor patients’ wellbeing and progress, recognising changes in mental health and care needs.
• Develop, review and update nursing care plans reflecting patient choice.
• Work with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care and contribute to clinical decisions.
• Prioritise and delegate nursing duties during shifts, acting as nurse in charge when required.
• Support a safe, therapeutic environment and ensure safeguarding and legal requirements are followed.
• Contribute to supervision and development of colleagues, including supporting recently qualified nurses.

What you'll be doing

• Act as a named nurse, working with patients and their families/carers to assess, plan and deliver personalised nursing care.
• Monitor patients’ wellbeing and progress, recognising and responding promptly to changes in their mental health and care needs.
• Develop, review and update nursing care plans, ensuring care remains person-centred and reflects patient choice.
• Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate effective patient care and contribute to clinical decision-making.
• Take responsibility for prioritising and delegating nursing duties during shifts, including acting as nurse in charge when required.
• Support a safe and therapeutic environment, ensuring safeguarding, Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty requirements are followed.
• Contribute to clinical supervision, reflective practice and the development of colleagues, including supporting newly qualified nurses through preceptorship.

What you'll bring to the role

Essential for the role

• Qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with active NMC registration.
• Completed preceptorship programme.
• Minimum 6 months post-registration experience.
