Job summary

Graphcore in Cambridge is seeking a Staff Software Engineer (ML QA) to build and validate the ML software stack across frameworks and hardware. You will design production-grade test infrastructure and scalable frameworks that can be extended by engineers, ensuring reliable products with clear evidence of accuracy and performance.

role involves mentoring junior engineers, shaping software architecture, and driving testing improvements across simulators, emulators and physical hardware.

Qualifications

• Strong Python skills with production-quality software.
• Software design for large, complex codebases with maintainability in mind.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines and automated testing systems in Linux environments.
• Familiarity with C or C++, including debugging and low-level reasoning.

Responsibilities

• Build the software that validates Graphcore’s ML stack across frameworks and hardware.
• Design production-quality test infrastructure that engineers can extend and rely on.
• Architect scalable test frameworks and CI/CD pipelines for simulators, emulators and hardware.
• Create representative ML workloads and analyze execution to drive tooling improvements.
• Mentor junior engineers and influence engineering practices to raise quality.
