Do you want a challenge where you make a real honest difference?

We have it, a completely unique opportunity to work as a separate entity to our client providing independent, confidential liaison for all staff. Previous hires in this post have come from multiple sectors and backgrounds, such as School Teachers, HR Managers, Business Directors, or Police/Military personnel.

This unique role is a stand-alone position working alongside an NHS client (not employed by the NHS) in a non-bias capacity, where you will be a confidential liaison, offering support by contacting employees to find self-determined resolutions to their concerns via telephone and/or in person. You will escalate issues of concern promptly according to agreed timescales and promote an environment of "Freedom To Speak Up," providing support for staff who feel unable to raise issues internally or without support.

Day-to-day responsibilities include providing in-person support to contacting client staff, escalating issues as per protocols (which will be trained), facilitating meetings as necessary, and providing communication support and presentations on services. You will also complete monthly reports and record-keeping efficiently and hold quarterly meetings with the CEO, Director of HR, and Non-Executive Director.

Main Duties

  • Promptly respond to initial telephone or email contacts with an empathic and non-judgemental approach.
  • Arrange conversations with contacting employees at mutually convenient times and venues, maximizing the use of telephone, Skype, FaceTime, etc., to facilitate speedy resolution.
  • Escalate issues related to patient safety and care in line with the NHS Trust's agreed timescales.
  • Escalate (anonymously when necessary) and stay in contact with the contacting employee and escalation contacts to ensure satisfactory resolution.
  • Facilitate meetings between contacting employees and colleagues, escalating concerns formally with their permission, following the escalation path.
  • Present the service to staff groups regularly and as required, with visibility levels agreed with the NHS Trust.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to evaluating the service's effectiveness, ensuring timely and accurate reports.
  • Handle information and data appropriately, protecting personal and confidential data in line with GDPR.
  • Work according to service policies and procedures.
  • Participate in supervision, training, and team meetings; attend staff meetings and organizational events as required.
  • Keep updated on employment law, NHS policies, and guidelines.
  • Act as a Champion and develop expertise in specific subject areas that add value.

What the role offers

  • Full training for individuals with transferable skills
  • The opportunity to make a difference
  • 100% flexible working hours based on your preferences
  • Remote working with site visits—must be Crawley or nearby, initially 1-2 days onsite, flexible.
