Job summary

IonQ, Inc. is seeking a Staff FPGA Engineer to design, develop, and validate RTL and FPGA-based control for quantum systems.

You will drive real-time control logic and signal processing for high-performance quantum hardware, collaborating with hardware, software, and testing teams. The role requires deep FPGA expertise, SystemVerilog, and proficiency with Vivado and verification tools, along with strong scripting in Python and MATLAB/Simulink.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related technical field required.
• 10+ years hands-on FPGA development experience required.
• Strong FPGA design and verification experience with signal processing focus.
• Proficiency in Python and MATLAB/Simulink for modelling and verification.
• Experience with SystemVerilog and FPGA verification tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test RTL modules for real-time quantum control systems.
• Own and architect critical FPGA control functions and signal processing blocks.
