Job summary

IonQ seeks a Staff FPGA Engineer to design, develop and test RTL modules for real-time quantum control systems. You will own architecture and implement critical FPGA control functions, performing verification and testing with Vivado, ModelSim, and related tools.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, applying DSP techniques and high-speed interfaces to advance the world’s most advanced quantum hardware. Hybrid work is available and compensation reflects senior level expertise.

Qualifications

• Strong FPGA design and verification on complex systems.
• Experience with DSP, DDC/DUC, DDS, and FIR/IIR filters.
• Proficient in Python and MATLAB/Simulink for modelling.
• Familiarity with ASIC design and high-speed interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and test RTL modules for real-time quantum control.
• Own architecture and implement critical FPGA control functions.
• Write test procedures and perform unit and system testing.
• Collaborate with hardware/software teams using GitLab.
