Job summary

Deliveroo’s Dev Environments team seeks a Staff Engineer to own the local and remote developer experience within the DoorDash/Wolt/Deliveroo ecosystem. You will set technical direction, drive cross‑team initiatives, and mentor senior engineers across multiple orgs.

This role emphasizes building scalable tooling and AI‑enabled workflows for thousands of engineers. You will partner with engineering leadership to translate ambiguous problems into concrete, sequenced strategies, shaping the future

Qualifications

• Proven track record shipping production systems and leading cross‑team initiatives.
• Hands-on fluency with Go, Python, TypeScript and Terraform in developer tooling.
• Experience managing Kubernetes or VM/sandbox tech for multi‑tenant environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to influence senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Define the architecture for dev environments across multiple platforms (DoorDash, Wolt, Deliveroo).
• Build and scale monorepo dev tooling for thousands of engineers.
• Provision production‑shaped environments quickly; keep state in sync across networks.
• Design for AI agents as first‑class consumers of the environment and support IDE/CLI/Slack workflows.
• Mentor engineers and align cross‑team efforts with leadership.
