Job description

It’s true. At Mews, we dream big. As a Hotel Tech unicorn valued at $1.2b, we’re propelling new-generation cloud technology within global hospitality. With our industry-leading property management solution, we’re enabling the world’s most revolutionary hospitality brands to accelerate their digital transformation.

We’re on the lookout for ambitious, tenacious and passionate people who want to join the next generation of innovators and disrupt the hospitality industry with us. Sound good so far? Keep reading and tumble down the Mews rabbit hole...

About the role

As Staff Product Designer, you will lead Design and Product initiatives that significantly improve the customer experience. You will focus on design and thinking strategically, guiding Design direction across multiple teams, providing inspiration and mentorship to other designers through your experience and leadership in the field.

You'll be part of a growing and vibrant design team, working closely with the Design Director and alongside Service Designers, UX Researchers, Product Managers, and Engineers to create products that really make a difference. The position is entirely remote - we believe in the impact people can bring no matter where they are.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it:
  1. Lead design initiatives that enhance the customer experience and align with product and company strategy.
  2. Inspire other designers, continually raising the bar for the team and our products.
  3. Work in close partnership with the Design System team to ensure alignment with the team's goals and needs.
  4. Engage with Design Leadership to refine, execute, and communicate our design vision and strategies across the company.
  5. Enhance our design standards, documentation, and processes together with the team to advance our design practices.
  6. Define the Design strategy and Vision for the team in cooperation with the Design Director.
  7. Uncover user needs through research, develop deep insights, generate concepts, and craft how people will interact with the products and services we design.
  8. Audit existing and blueprint new digital and in-person experiences, identifying opportunities and solutions for improvement and experimentation.
Who are you?

You have an acute visual eye and can craft interfaces that solve problems, engage, and delight. You are organized and methodical, capable of managing several complex projects simultaneously and connecting the dots.

You have strong skills to define processes that optimize and improve team workflow. You possess a solid background in Product Design and UX.

You can show us an excellent portfolio with design solutions and strategic approaches. You are capable of facilitating workshops, setting design sprints, and holding seminars and training sessions.

You have strong storytelling and public speaking skills, and you are comfortable explaining your ideas to client stakeholders and ideating the best means to present your conceptual work.

You are empathetic and passionate about customers and how a product can help solve their biggest problems. You are comfortable with ambiguity and can effectively cope with change, shift gears comfortably, and make decisions without always having the total picture.

You have an optimistic and positive attitude oriented towards collaboration and learning.

You’ll be a great fit if you bring a few of the below with you:
  1. Minimum of 8+ years of experience designing complex products.
  2. Minimum bachelor's degree in a design-related discipline.
  3. Ability to think beyond current practices and drive change to support new ideas, improvements, and working practices.
  4. Experience in Futures Design and Strategic Foresight.
What’s in it for you?

Did you know that Mews was voted the Best PMS of 2024 and has previously held the title of Best Place to Work in Hotel Tech for two consecutive years? Most of that is down to our inspiring team, but part of it is because of some pretty amazing perks. As well as awesome colleagues and stimulating work, you'll get:

  • Best-in-class Parental Leave Policy. As the primary caregiver, you get 6 months of fully paid parental leave, and as a secondary caregiver, you get 2 months of fully paid parental leave.
  • Participation in the Company shares program.
  • Flexible Benefits via the ThanksBen platform.
  • Unlimited paid holiday.
  • Wellness Wednesdays (once a month, the whole company enjoys a day to attend to well-being).
  • Remote/flexible working.
  • Monthly working from home allowance and a monthly healthcare insurance allowance.
  • Regular team events and socials.
Who is Mews?

We want to get to know you, so it’s only fair we tell you a little bit about ourselves first. Mews has been transforming hospitality since 2012. What began in a single hotel in Prague now powers thousands of hotels around the world, as they pursue their mission to develop transformational solutions for brands and create remarkable experiences for guests.

Since the beginning, Mews embraced being different. Mews is not simply a property management system, but a connected hospitality cloud with products across the hotel ecosystem and more integrations than anyone else.

Powering over 5,000 customers across more than 85 countries, Mews Hospitality Cloud is designed to streamline operations for modern hoteliers, transform the guest experience, and create more profitable businesses.

Ranked 24th in the FT 1000 list of the fastest-growing European companies in 2021, Mews has been recognized as the Best PMS by industry peers at the HotelTechAwards in both 2020 and 2024.

That’s what we do, but what about who we are? Mews’ culture is special and difficult to capture in words, which makes writing this tricky. You'll experience the freedom to be yourself and the ability to watch your ideas come to life.

Everyone is welcome at Mews

To reimagine the art of hospitality, we need teams who represent our global and diverse customers. Our differences make Mews, so we welcome people of all backgrounds and identities to work with us. If this sounds like you and you're ready to join a global, innovative, and exciting community, we'd love to hear from you!

One very important note….don’t hold back! Even if you think you don’t meet 100% of the criteria listed in this job role, we still encourage you to apply.
