Job summary

NATO Headquarters Allied Maritime Command (HQ MARCOM) in Northwood, Middlesex, UK, is seeking a Staff Assistant to support Wargaming and Modelling & Simulation within a fixed-term three-year appointment. The role sits in the Plans Directorate and will help activate capability and assist operational planning.

The successful candidate will have at least three years of administrative experience and experience with wargaming/M&S tools, plus relevant vocational credentials.

BACKGROUND

ROLE PURPOSE

The primary purpose of this role is to enable and enhance the functioning of MARCOM's Wargaming, Modelling and Simulation (W, M&S) capability and Operations Planning functions to enhance our mission readiness.

OVERVIEW

This is a fixed-term 3-year role based in the Plans Directorate working with stakeholders across the organisation to activate W, M&S capability and support operational planning.

Co-ordination

MARCOM's Wargaming, Modelling and Simulation capability and Operational Planning Branch is efficiently and effectively supported by administrative excellence.

Capability Development

MARCOM's Wargaming, Modelling and Simulation capability is connected across the pan-NATO working group and able to contribute to, and benefit from emerging innovations.

System Administration and Support

Users of Wargaming, Modelling and Simulator and Operational Planning tools receive timely and reliable support and guidance and are set up for success.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

The following requirements must be met for the Staff Assistant (Wargaming / M&S facilitator) role.

Essential

• At least three years professional experience in an administrative role in an office setting.
• Experience in employing of wargaming and M&S computer tools.
• Higher Secondary education and completed higher vocational training leading to a formal technical or professional certification with 3 years function related experience, or Secondary education and completed advanced vocational training leading to a professional qualification or professional accreditation with 5 years post related experience.

Desirable

• Experience in NATO or National/international organisations related to Wargaming and / or M&S.
• Experience of working in a NATO or national military HQ.
