WRITER's security team is seeking a staff detection and response engineer to protect the AI infrastructure, training data, and model deployments. You will build sophisticated detection systems and automated responses that scale with the company's explosive growth.

This role collaborates with AI Security, Cloud Infrastructure, and Software Security Engineering to implement a defense-in-depth strategy across GPUs and distributed training environments, translating threat intelligence into real-time

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years in security operations, detection engineering, or incident response with a proven track record in production environments; 3+ years securing AI/ML infrastructure or distributed systems.
• Strong programming in Python, KQL, SPL or similar to build detection logic and automate responses.
• Experience with SIEM platforms, detection tech, and forensic investigations in complex distributed environments.
• Self-directed with a track record of securing high-value IP and automating incident response.
• Deep alignment with WRITER's values; ability to collaborate across security, infra, and AI research teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement AI-specific threat detection strategies across distributed infrastructure.
• Develop automated response playbooks and workflows to contain threats with minimal human intervention.
• Lead incident response coordination across Cloud, AppSec, Enterprise, and AI Security teams.
• Hunt for sophisticated threats across GPU clusters and distributed training environments.
• Build detection-as-code frameworks with version control and automated deployment.
• Collaborate with teams to translate threat research into production detections and guardrails.
• Maintain 24/7 on-call rotation for critical AI security incidents.
