Job summary

Mitie is recruiting an SSOW Administrator for our Macclesfield pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. You will oversee Safe Systems of Work, coordinate permit-to-work processes, and ensure compliance with GMP, GDP, and ISO standards across maintenance and project activities.

You will interact with engineering, facilities, and safety teams to drive safe operations, performance governance, and contractor management within a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in pharmaceutical/healthcare or GMP-regulated environments.
• Experience administering permit-to-work systems, contractor compliance programs, and CAFM/SAP/Maximo.
• Knowledge of GMP, GDP, CDM regulations, ISO standards, and permit-to-work software.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain the SSOW programme for the site.
• Review and process permit-to-work applications per site procedures.
• Ensure permits are completed accurately and authorised before work starts.

We're looking for a SSOW (Safe Systems of Work) Administrator who will be responsible for the administration, coordination, and governance of Safe Systems of Work across a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. The role provides critical support for permit-to-work processes, risk assessments, method statements, contractor compliance, and engineering documentation to ensure all maintenance, project, and operational activities are undertaken safely and in accordance with GMP, statutory, and company requirements.

Role Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain the site's Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) programme.
• Review and process permit-to-work applications in accordance with site procedures.
• Ensure permits are completed accurately and authorised prior to work commencing.
• Maintain permit registers and records.
• Support the implementation of safe working practices across all FM activities

Required Qualification

• Experience within a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, GMP-regulated, or other safety-critical environment.
• Experience administering permit-to-work systems, contractor compliance programmes, and CAFM/SAP/Maximo systems.
• Knowledge of GMP, GDP, CDM Regulations, ISO standards, and permit-to-work software.
