The Sterile Services department (SSD) provides essential services of reprocessing surgical instruments and Endoscopy for use in wards and departments within the trust and outside practices. As an SSD Technician the post holder will have the opportunity to work within a friendly and skilled team, providing essential support to clinical service providers. You will be involved in the decontamination, inspecting, assembling, packaging, sterilising and distributing of surgical instrumentation to Wards, Departments, Theatres and Endoscopy. The role is physically demanding, involving pushing, pulling, lifting and handling heavy instrument sets and long periods of standing. Also, it is necessary to transport theatre equipment around the hospital using trolleys. The successful candidate will be required to work a pattern of weekend shifts and 2 Bank Holidays in the year.,
