Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a diligent team member to liaise with service users on routine matters and support instrument handling across departments, theatres and wards. You will sort, check and process used surgical instruments, assemble, pack and label instrument sets to meet accepted standards.

To liaise with users of the service on routine matters. Communicate effectively with team members and the Team Leader(s). Collection of used items from departments, theatres and wards throughout the hospital site as required. Sorting, checking and processing used surgical instruments and other items using appropriate machinery. Assembling, packing and labelling instrument sets and supplementary items in accordance with accepted standards. Attain familiarity with surgical instruments and their use and demonstrate ability to dismantle and reassemble instruments ready for surgery. Demonstrate competency in inspecting instrumentation for cleanliness, damage and function. Ensure that quality and standards are met and goods produced are fit for the purpose intended. To understand and be able to use the Medical Device Tracking and Traceability systems. To distribute sterile packs and trays to departments and wards as required.
