Job summary

Equifax in Leeds seeks an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to design, build and run large-scale distributed systems across cloud-native (AWS/GCP) and hybrid architectures. You’ll implement infrastructure as code, pipelines, and automation while on-call for incidents.

You’ll lead blameless postmortems, drive remediation, and collaborate to improve MTTR and reliability. The role emphasizes DevSecOps, operational excellence, and a diverse team culture.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding or equivalent experience.
• Extensive experience in software engineering, systems administration and networking.
• Experience developing and/or administering software in public cloud.
• Experience monitoring uptime and availability to meet objectives.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, Java, Go, JavaScript and/or Node.js.
• Knowledge across systems, storage, networking, security and databases.
• Automation/orchestration with Terraform, Chef, Ansible or containers.

Responsibilities

• Manage system uptime across cloud-native and hybrid architectures.
• Build infrastructure as code patterns meeting security/engineering standards.
• Create CI/CD pipelines for build, test and deployment.
• Develop automated tooling to deploy service changes and runbooks.
• Lead blameless postmortems and drive remediation actions.
