Job summary

Dianaduggan is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join a high-performing engineering team in Glasgow as a Cloud Engineer. You will enhance cloud reliability, scalability, automation and operational excellence across enterprise cloud platforms.

Based in Glasgow, the role is on-site for 5 days a week with an initial 6-month contract and immediate start. Day rate of £400–£450 inside IR35 with an umbrella.pay framework and potential extension.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Cloud Engineering or DevOps.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills with Python.
  • Extensive Terraform and Infrastructure as Code experience.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and containerisation across Linux and Windows.
  • Hands-on with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience supporting CI/CD and cloud-native operational processes.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and maintain highly available cloud infrastructure across multi-cloud environments.
  • Drive SRE best practices: observability, resilience, reliability, and automation.
  • Develop and maintain IaC solutions using Terraform.
  • Build and enhance automation tooling using Python.
  • Support cloud platform engineering across Azure and GCP.
  • Manage and optimise containerised workloads and Kubernetes environments.
  • Troubleshoot complex infra and app issues across OSes.
  • Collaborate with development, platform and security teams to improve stability.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native operational processes.

Our client is undergoing a major cloud transformation programme and are seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) / Cloud Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team.

You will play a key role in enhancing cloud reliability, scalability, automation and operational excellence across enterprise cloud platforms.

  • Location: on-site - 5 days a week in Glasgow office.
  • Duration: 6 months initially (with potential extension)
  • Start Date: Immediate

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, build and maintain highly available cloud infrastructure across multi-cloud environments.

  • Collaborate with development, platform and security teams to improve platform stability and performance.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native operational processes.
Essential Skills/Experience
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience in a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Cloud Engineering or DevOps role.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills using Python.
  • Extensive experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Experience working across multiple operating systems (Linux and Windows environments).
  • Strong understanding of Kubernetes and containerisation technologies.
Desirable
  • Experience within large-scale enterprise or financial services environments.
  • Exposure to CI/CD tooling and cloud-native engineering practices.
  • Knowledge of cloud security and governance controls.
