Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace in Yeovil, UK, seeks a Sr Stress Mechanical Engineer for a hybrid role (3 days in office, 2 days at home). You will lead stress analyses, heat transfer studies, and provide technical oversight across global teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with emphasis in heat transfer or thermal sciences & stress analysis.
  • Proficiency in linear static, nonlinear/elasto-plastic, fatigue (HCF & LCF), modal, shock, harmonic, random vibration, & crack growth analyses.
  • Strong working knowledge of ANSYS finite element software & classical hand calculation methods.

Responsibilities

  • Perform stress analysis using complex finite element & classic calculation methods, and support testing.
  • Perform heat transfer analysis in practice and theory (analytical correlations and complex finite element methods) and related topics in thermodynamics, single and multi-phase flows, and energy systems.
  • Provide technical oversight to global engineering teams across time zones.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
  • Requirements validation.

We have an opportunity for a Sr Stress Mechanical Engineer to join us at Honeywell Aerospace, in Yeovil, UK. This is a hybrid role, 3 days at the office + 2 days work from home model.
