Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace in Yeovil is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our site team. You will assess and drive program performance across Environmental Control Systems, Hydraulics, and Life Support Systems, coordinating with suppliers and internal stakeholders to meet milestones.

You will develop plans, track progress, manage risks, and lead design reviews under HAY procedures, ensuring cost, schedule and quality targets are met while maintaining strong relationships with customers

Qualifications

• Experience in project engineering environment and understanding of the engineering lifecycle from conception to commissioning.
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
• Strong understanding of working with suppliers and integrated supply chains in project lifecycles.

Responsibilities

• Create project plans, schedules, and milestones to customer expectations using earned value metrics.
• Monitor and maintain project plans to ensure milestone adherence and on-time delivery.
• Create and monitor work packages for internal suppliers to support technical and schedule adherence.
• Build internal and external customer relationships throughout projects to ensure completion.
• Ensure that projects run within cost, quality, and time metrics.
• Manage requirements, including validation and allocation.
• Coordinate and lead design reviews per HAY procedures.
• Manage project risks and mitigation plans.

Control Systems develops the thermal and motion control systems that help aircraft take off, land safely and protect the people on board. What are we looking for?

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, and motivated individual to join our site in Yeovil as an Project Engineer. You will be part of a team assessing and driving achievement of program specific performance within Honeywell Aerospace. You will be working on complex aerospace engineering projects across a variety of remits including Environmental Control Systems (ECS), Hydraulics, and Life Support Systems (LSS).

Key Responsibilities

• Create project plans, schedules, and determine milestones to customer expectations using earned value metrics
• Monitor and maintain project plans, ensure focus is maintained to milestone adherence to ensure products are delivered on time
• Create and monitor the progress of work packages for internal suppliers to support technical and schedule adherence.
• Build internal and external customer relationships throughout projects to ensure completion
• Ensuring that projects run within cost, quality, and time metrics
• Management of requirements, including requirements validation and the appropriate allocation of requirements
• Co‑ordinate and Lead Design Reviews in accordance with HAY procedures
• Manage project risks and mitigation plans.

Key requirements and skills

• HND/HNC/Degree in mechanical engineering/aerospace
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
• Previous experience of working within a project engineering environment, and an understanding of the engineering lifecycle of a product from conception to commissioning
• Previous experience of using Microsoft Project, or a similar project forecasting system
• A strong understanding and experience of working with suppliers and integrated supply chains and how and where they fit in the project lifecycle
