Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace in Yeovil is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to provide technical product expertise and support for the GROE team across the Yeovil shop and allied global sites.

The role focuses on sustaining and growing the Aerospace Aftermarket business by improving designs, processes, and capacity strategies, collaborating with AES Directors and site leaders to deliver value and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • 7 years of experience in aerospace or mechanical industry.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in mechanical/aerospace engineering.
  • Knowledge of commercial and military aircraft mechanical systems, environmental control systems or life support systems.
  • Familiarity with aerospace hardware qualification.
  • Self-motivation and ability to work with little supervision while resolving complex situations.

Responsibilities

  • Be the focal for the GROE team located in Yeovil site.
  • Provide oversight and input to GROE AES Directors strategies.
  • Plan and execute the capacity strategy.
  • Lead the Backlog, TAT and past due reduction initiatives for AES EMEA.
  • Report out and support GROE leadership
  • Provide input on GROE engineers yearly results.
  • Partner with the HAY and HAB sight leaders on all GROE strategies
  • Monitor and action all engineering requests for Mechanical, investigating patterns for needed site trainings and improvements.

Job description

The Global Repair and Overhaul Engineering (GROE) team has an immediate opening for the newly created position of Senior Mechanical Engineer. The position is responsible for providing technical product expertise and support for GROE engineers across the Yeovil shop, sustaining and growing Honeywell's Aerospace Aftermarket business.

The position is in Honeywell Yeovil and includes daily collaboration with staff distributed globally at different product centres, factories, and service centres. The GROE team is focused on improving supply chain performance by maintaining and improving designs for products and improving process currently used in the aftermarket phase.

Key Skills
  • Bachelor's degree or relevant experience in mechanical, electrical, systems, or aerospace engineering
  • 7 years working in the aerospace or mechanical industry.
  • Knowledge of commercial and military aircraft mechanical systems, environmental control systems or life support systems.
  • Familiarity with aerospace hardware qualification
  • Self-motivation and ability to work with little supervision while resolving complex situations and problems.
