Senior Manager, Solutions Engineering

Location: Based in the United Kingdom (remote)

About The Team

The Solutions Engineering team serves as the primary technical resource and internal advocate for all Customers at HashiCorp. Through consultative engagement, we identify our Customers’ challenges and business requirements, leveraging our product expertise to propose solutions that meet their needs. As trusted technical advisors, we work closely with our Customers to help them achieve their target outcomes and realise the full value of the HashiCorp solutions they’ve implemented. This manager position will focus on a mixture of Strategic and Enterprise customers across a number of verticals within the UK/I markets.

What You’ll Do (responsibilities)

As Senior Manager, Solutions Engineering, you will lead and support a team of high-performing Solutions Engineers through all stages of the sales process, from pipeline creation to technical validation, onboarding, consumption, and renewal. You will partner closely with a Sales RVP to drive business development and sales growth within a shared territory, ensuring your team provides exceptional technical guidance to Customers at every stage. Your responsibilities include:

  • Managing, mentoring, and developing a high-performance Solutions Engineering team to foster continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Owning and executing the technical strategy for your region, collaborating with Sales Leadership to develop pipeline and drive growth.
  • Supporting the Customer journey by engaging at critical moments, providing support, and working cross-functionally to maximize customer value from HashiCorp solutions.
  • Applying a data-driven approach to improve business and operational processes.
  • Influencing strategic decisions and driving initiatives across your region.
  • Communicating regional priorities and key trends to cross-functional stakeholders within HashiCorp.

What You’ll Need (minimum Qualifications)

  • At least 4 years in a Technical Pre-Sales role, with at least 3 years in a managerial position over the past 5 years.
  • Proven ability to work closely with Sales and other teams to achieve goals.
  • Experience building, growing, and managing a talented regional team.
  • Success in defining and executing strategic projects in fast-paced environments.
  • Experience with DevOps, cloud computing, distributed systems, and cluster management software.
  • Outstanding communication skills in English and German, both written and oral.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a mentoring mindset.
  • Ability to make strategic, complex decisions independently.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of HashiCorp tools and experience with the HashiCorp portfolio.
  • Familiarity with sales processes and ability to articulate their benefits.
  • Experience in hiring, retaining, and motivating technical teams.
  • Understanding of Cloud, SaaS, Infrastructure, and Security solutions.
  • Experience working with diverse customer types and connecting technical solutions to customer needs.
