Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts.

Responsibilities

• Lead technology and process implementations to achieve functional technology objectives.
• Work with Lines of Business to address compute-space needs in a low-latency electronic trading environment.
• Direct strategies for server hardware, OS tuning, automation, and lifecycle management.
• Serve as design authority for the compute infrastructure stack, including build, config mgmt, and log/metric aggregation.
• Interface with hardware and software vendors on product roadmaps for next-gen infrastructure.
• Make decisions affecting resources, budget, operations, and processes.
• Governance accountability for coding decisions, cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operations.
• Deliver technical solutions usable across multiple businesses and domains.
• Influence peer leaders and senior stakeholders across business, product, and tech teams.
• Champion diversity, inclusion, and respect within the team.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to partner technical teams.

Requirements

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10 years applied experience
• Understanding of IPv4 networking, including the OSI model, unicast/broadcast/multicast, routing, and network segregation mechanisms
• Extensive experience with configuration management, preferably Chef or Ansible
• Experience developing or leading cross-functional teams of technologists
• Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent
• Experience leading a product as a Product Owner or Product Manager
• Practical cloud native experience
• Expertise in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
• Mentoring SRE and partner teams on automation best practices, technical thought process, and modern infrastructure management
• Linux administration, performance tuning, and benchmarking for low-latency electronic trading, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux
• Performing research, development, and risk analysis related to the role
• Understanding of standard cryptography, including certificates, key pairs, and communication
