Job summary

SYSTRA UK & Ireland is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Lead to join our Rail and Built Environment teams in Edinburgh. You will lead multi-disciplinary design projects, ensuring quality and compliance with CDM regulations, and work with clients and construction teams to deliver safe, buildable solutions.

The role requires extensive leadership of large projects, strong technical knowledge of railway systems, and the ability to mentor junior staff while maintaining programme and budget.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in electrical design for large multi-disciplinary projects.
• Knowledge of railway lineside systems and associated installations.
• Familiar with electrical calculation tools and standards.
• Professional registration or chartered status sought or held.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage multi-disciplinary project teams to deliver design outputs.
• Ensure designs comply with safety, health and CDM regulations.
• Coordinate with clients, construction teams and suppliers for buildability.
• Develop staff, mentor junior engineers and manage performance.
• Ensure delivery within programme, budget and client expectations.
