Job summary

SearchWorks is seeking a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer in Manchester to own core IT infrastructure and drive cloud transformation. The role focuses on Azure migration, Entra ID and Microsoft 365, with opportunities to lead key technical projects.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in infrastructure engineering, strong Entra ID/M365 experience, and a proven record of on-premises to Azure migrations, AD/DNS/DHCP expertise, and hands-on Intune management.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4+ years in infrastructure engineering with hands-on cloud experience.
• Proven track record migrating on-premises environments to Azure.
• Strong experience with Entra ID and Microsoft 365 migration strategies.
• Experience with AD, DNS, DHCP, networking and firewall administration.
• Experience leading technical projects and serving as a senior escalation point.

Job description

We’re recruiting for a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer to join a growing Internal IT team in Manchester. This is a newly created, high-impact role for a hands-on infrastructure professional who can take ownership of core IT infrastructure, lead complex technical projects and help drive cloud and Microsoft transformation strategy.

This is a hands-on role focused on Azure/cloud migration, Entra ID, Microsoft 365 and modern infrastructure, with the opportunity to lead key technical projects.

Key Requirements

• 4+ years’ Infrastructure Engineering experience
• Proven experience leading on-premises → Azure migrations
• Strong Entra ID & Microsoft 365 experience, including migrating away from on-prem environments
• Experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, networking and firewalls
• Strong endpoint/infrastructure experience with Intune
• Experience leading technical projects and acting as a senior escalation point
• On-prem/hybrid AD → Entra ID migration – ideally led and delivered personally
• DHCP/firewall migration or implementation in a new environment
• Nice to have: Autopilot and Entra ID SSO / Enterprise Applications
