Job summary

SearchWorks seeks a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer to join the Internal IT team and own core infrastructure while guiding cloud migration projects.

With 5+ years in infrastructure, you will lead on-prem to cloud transitions, manage Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online and SharePoint Online, and ensure secure, modern endpoints across Windows, macOS, iOS and Android.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in IT infrastructure engineering or similar.
• Hands-on Microsoft ecosystem experience.
• Experience with cloud migration and modernisation projects.
• Knowledge of Microsoft E5 security and endpoint capabilities.
• Strong understanding of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and identity/access management.
• Experience automating IT processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead migration of on-premises Windows infrastructure to cloud-based services.
• Own and optimise Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online and SharePoint Online.
• Modernise network infrastructure, including cloud-based appliances and Global Secure Access.
• Implement and support Windows Autopilot, Microsoft Autopatch and Microsoft E5 capabilities.
• Deliver solutions including Intune Endpoint Privilege Management (EPM), Microsoft Cloud PKI, Enterprise Application Management and Intune Remote Help.
• Act as the technical owner for core infrastructure services including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, identity and access management and networking.
• Support Windows, macOS, Android and iOS environments.
• Act as the senior escalation point for complex technical issues, incidents and root-cause analysis.

Job description

Our client is looking for a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer to join their Internal IT team and work closely with the Head of IT Operations.

This is a newly created, hands-on role for someone with 5+ years of infrastructure experience who can take ownership of core IT infrastructure while leading modernisation and cloud migration projects.

You’ll be the senior technical escalation point within the team, responsible for delivering projects, improving the end-user experience and helping move the organisation towards a more modern, secure and cloud-focused IT environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the migration of on-premises Windows infrastructure to cloud-based services.

Key Experience:

• 5+ years' experience in an IT Infrastructure Engineer, Senior Infrastructure Engineer or similar role.
• Strong hands-on experience across the Microsoft ecosystem.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID and Intune.
• Experience delivering cloud migration and infrastructure modernisation projects.
• Knowledge of Microsoft E5 security and endpoint capabilities.
• Strong understanding of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, networking and identity/access management.
• Experience with automation and improving IT processes.
