Job summary

G MASS Consulting are supporting a leading Lloyd's of London managing agency based in the City. We're seeking a SQL Server Developer on a 12-month fixed-term contract to create and maintain SQL Server objects for an in-house data warehouse, working with business users and the BI team.

This role offers hybrid working, with 2-3 days per week in the office. Hours are flexible within a 7-hour day, start time between 8am and 10am. The position is available to start as soon as possible.

Qualifications

• Five years' experience as a developer.
• Strong T-SQL knowledge and a good understanding of the SQL Server stack, including SSRS and SSIS; SQL Azure preferred.
• C#, SharePoint, web development or API experience is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and documentation skills, with keen attention to detail.
• Insurance or Financial Services experience is a plus but not a requirement; experience in a live environment is desirable.

• Work with clients, business users and the BI team to analyse requirements and recommend technical solutions.

• Provide technical support to SharePoint and web developers, including cover during absences.

• Support the onboarding of new clients, working accurately to tight deadlines.

You'll work closely with business users, internal clients and the wider BI team to analyse requirements and deliver technical solutions.

Requirements

• Minimum of five years' experience working as a developer


• Strong T-SQL knowledge and a good understanding of the SQL Server stack, including SSRS and SSIS; SQL Azure preferred


• C#, SharePoint, web development or API experience is an advantage


• Strong analytical and documentation skills, with keen attention to detail


• Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel


• Confident communicator, able to liaise with colleagues, clients and external companies


• Able to prioritise multiple tasks and work accurately under pressure


• Degree in a mathematical or IT discipline desirable, though relevant SQL Server experience will be considered


• Insurance or Financial Services experience is a plus but not a requirement; experience in a live environment is desirable
